I am still adjusting to it being December and a new year starting in just a few weeks! With the new year comes new opportunities to enhance our violin playing, musical training and overall growth.
Let me start by saying it is so important to not over schedule our kids and ourselves as parents. We all have interests and things we want to do and it is far too easy to burn out. Please take your schedule and your child's interests into consideration and check all the class and recital dates before committing to any further classes.
On the other hand, I have designed these classes to fall on the same evening as other violin commitments so as not take up more evenings of your schedule. Is 2 hours of violin a long time (for those already in Group and now considering Fiddle?) Maybe. However, it's no longer than sitting in an orchestra rehearsal or practice/games for competitive activities. Also keep in mind that because my classes fall on Mondays, there are many Mondays that are off because of Holidays. Although consistency is important, having breaks in the schedule is important too.
Here are some of the programs happening at Amy's Violin School aside from Private Lessons and Group Classes. Consider gifting an experience this holiday and pass any of this information and links on to family and friends.
Small Steps Music Class
Ages 0-4 (with parent)
Mondays from 4:00-4:30
Small steps is not just a music class (based off the Suzuki Early Childhood Education Curriculum). It is an opportunity to provide children with fundamental skills they will use in preschool, grade school, instrumental music lessons and essentially life.

Fiddle Class
Available to registered private violin & group class students
Must be playing Book 1 Etude + up
Mondays from 6:00-6:50
Fiddle Class is an incredible opportunity to perform, to enhance and learn new skills on the violin and to give something back to the community. We also learn some percussion and step dancing in this class!
Some classes will run in conjunction with the Community Celtic Session (see below). This will give the students the opportunity to play with other musicians in a session setting and drill the tunes being learned while being exposed to other tunes and styles.

Community Celtic Session

Mondays from 6:30-7:30 (semi regular)
These sessions provide a safe environment for anyone to learn and play Celtic music. You can be a beginner or an advanced player and take advantage of this opportunity to just play and experiment with your instrument. Some classes will run in conjunction with the Fiddle Class (see above).
